My Own Experience

Living for years with facial paralysis, single-sided deafness and vision issues from a brain tumor surgery, I am familiar with some of the vulnerabilities and challenges of not being able to rely fully on my body's functions or participating in certain activities the way others can.

I feel grateful for having gained heightened awareness and sensitivity from these changes, and I always appreciate when someone is willing to try to understand things from my perspective and offer to help.  It's my intention to do that for others, too.
